On top of the tallest mountain in Wales and England, at over a kilometre above sea level, is a unique resting stop for weary travellers and sightseers alike – the Snowdon Summit Visitor Centre.
Hafod Eryri first opened in June of 2009, this unique centre including a cafe lets you relax from a long climb up the mountain and gives you the chance to eat a refreshing and rewarding meal with amazing views, stretching as far as Ireland on good days. The Summit Cafe offers both hot and cold drinks, as well as pasties, pies and other delicious foods. This cafe is perfect for a reviving meal after a gruelling hike up Wales’ biggest mountain, or for a quick snack after enjoying the views of the Snowdon Mountain Railway. It can also be extremely rewarding to enjoy a meal after climbing the mountain, as it makes you really feel as though you’ve earned it!
If you’re not up to trekking the entirety of the journey though, you can usually take the Snowdon Mountain Railway which offers beautiful sights of Snowdonia on the way up the hill and is perfect for a relaxing sightseeing journey right to the summit of Snowdon.
