Swallow Falls

No, not the village ‘Swallow Falls’ from Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. 🙂

Swallow falls is a stunning, dog friendly waterfall, on the River Llugwy, in the village of Betws Y Coed which is located in North Wales. The falls add to Betws Y Coed’s already pristine beauty. The waterfall has become a familiar celebrity over the last century on film, postcards and canvas.

Parking is available at the Swallow Falls hotel which is located just off the A5. On arrival you can view the falls from a location above the river which doesn’t require any difficult walking or for the more energetic there are steps leading down to a platform near the river edge.

It costs 75p per child and £2 per adult to get on the platform but it’s absolutely worth it as here you get an up close view of the beautiful Swallow Falls and all money goes towards up-keep of the area.
