The Entry to this old but significant slate mine is through the main tunnel, under the twin arches of the crypt and into the tall cathedral cavern.
The tunnels and caverns you will see were all made by man over 100 years ago wit only a candle as a source of light. The slate in this mine is among the oldest in the world and in many of the industrial towns of Britain and Ireland have roofs made of the original Llanfair slate.
As you ascend from the caverns you face the breathtaking view of Cardigan Bay, from the Preseli mountains in the South to the Lleyn Peninsular. There are a total of 9 fantastic slate caverns to explore.
